Palace Midfielder Given Green Light To Speak To QPR Over A Switch

Crystal Palace midfielder Adlene Guedioura could well be on the way out of the club in the next few days, with QPR boss Chris Ramsey having confirmed that he is hoping to sign the Algerian international.

Adlene has struggled for regular game time ever since joining the club in the summer of 2013, despite performing relatively well whenever he has been called upon, with the strength in depth of the Palace midfield having acted as a serious barrier to him ever getting a decent run of games at Selhurst Park.

Last season saw the former Forest man enjoy a fruitful spell on loan at Watford, with whom he had been looking to secure a permanent deal following their promotion to the Premier League, but with yet another new manager in place at Vicarage Road, his hopes of making his stay there permanent appear to have hit the skids.

With QPR having swapped places with the Hornets in May, they will now be looking to build a squad that is better equipped to deal with the challenges of the top flight should they manage to make an immediate return, with Guedioura clearly viewed as a big part of that puzzle by current Hoops’ boss Ramsey.

Although there are plenty at Selhurst Park who would like to keep hold of the imposing midfielder, his lack of appearances, coupled with the wide variety of options currently available to Alan Pardew in the middle of the field has led to the boss giving his blessing for Adlene to move on during the current transfer window.

Should there be any official word over his immediate future, it will be covered by HLTCO as soon as possible.

Bournemouth To Make A Move For Palace’s Forgotten Midfield Man

Adlene Guedioura could be leaving Crystal Palace for good in the next few weeks, after Premier League newcomers Bournemouth expressed an interest in signing him ahead of Watford.

Whilst the Algerian had looked certain to return to Vicarage Road this summer following two separate loan spells there last season, another change of manager there has thrown doubt over a move, with the Cherries more than ready to step in and make their intentions known.

Likely to pay between £2-3 million for him, Eddie Howe would be getting an enthusiastic and skilful midfielder, whose struggles to break into the Palace have simply been a consequence of the strength in depth we posses in the middle of the park. With Jedinak, Ledley and McArthur to dislodge, it’s no surprise to see Adlene sat on the sidelines, not to say that he’s incapable of performing well from week to week in the Premier League with another club.

One of Ian Holloway’s 7,437 signings in the summer of 2013, his time at Selhurst Park has been filled with potential and the odd sparkling performance, not least his impressive cameo in our huge win over Spurs last term, but for whatever reason, he’s just never been given a prolonged run in the starting XI, which after two years, is bound to have fuelled his desire to move on.

On the face of it, Bournemouth and Guedioura should suit each other quite well, but as is often the case with transfers, it’s difficult to know for sure before the competitive nature of league football comes into the equation.
