Stoke City Believe They Can Lure Bolasie Away From Crystal Palace

Whilst most of the speculation linking Yannick Bolasie with a move away from Crystal Palace this summer has revolved around Tottenham Hotspur, a report in The Mirror suggests that Stoke City are now weighing up a bid for him.

According to Ed Malyon, the Potters are losing patience with Dnipro’s Yevhen Konoplyanka, who is stalling on a move to the Britannia Stadium, despite the fact that the financial package Mark Hughes and co. have put on the table is significantly larger than what some of Europe’s biggest clubs have been prepared to part with.

Keeping that in mind, the report claims that Bolasie is seen as something of a fallback option for those in the Potteries, with the winger supposedly open to a move away before August, even though European football likely to be a major contributing factor in his willingness to leave SE25.

Despite Stoke not quite holding the stature of Liverpool or Tottenham in the mind of a neutral, it sounds as though the finances they are willing to throw at either one of the aforementioned pair are seen by those holding the purse strings as substantial enough to sway them towards a move, as they look to push the club onto the next level, following a fine season in 2014/15.

From our side of the fence, it appears as though Stoke may not believe that we will hold out for a fee as high as the one Alan Pardew has often referenced when discussing the potential sale of Bolasie, even though at this stage, £15 million would probably not be enough for us to let him go.

Should they wish to go above that, it may start to become difficult for the board to say no, but for now, it remains the stuff of pure speculation, with Spurs looking far more likely to place a bid in the coming weeks than Mark Hughes’ men.

VIDEO: Watch Murray & Zaha’s Stoke Goals From The Stands

As always, PalaceFanTV have uploaded their footage from our most recent game, capturing the fans’ reaction to both Glenn Murray’s penalty and Wilfried Zaha’s winner perfectly.

On a day when Palace secured their sixth away win in seven games under Alan Pardew, our supporters were in fine voice, having sold out the 2,900 allocation given to us by Stoke in rapid fashion.

With the sun shining and Pardew’s tactics working perfectly, the players ground out another massive three points to keep us 11 clear of the bottom three with just eight games left to play, all but securing our status in the Premier League for another season with nearly two months to spare.

If you weren’t able to make it to the Britannia Stadium for the game itself, this video is as close as you can get to having been there; if you were, why not spend a few minutes of your Monday evening re-living it? There are far worse ways to spend 10 minutes…
